==Description==
Mewtwo [[bulbapedia:Mega Evolution|Mega Evolves]] into its Mega Mewtwo Y form and uses {{iw|bulbapedia|Psystrike|move}}. It throws forward a large energy sphere which can trap multiple opponents: those caught in the blast are held still and receive a mental shock, then they are dealt 30% damage and are launched away. It can kill from the middle of final destination at around 45%.

==Origin==
Psystrike is Mewtwo's signature move, introduced in {{iw|bulbapedia|Generation V}} and learned at level 100. It has 100 base power and 100% accuracy, and despite being a Special move it uses the target's physical Defense stat when calculating damage.

Mega Mewtwo Y is one of Mewtwo's two possible {{iw|bulbapedia|Mega Evolution}}s and can be triggered when it is holding a Mewtwonite Y, found only in ''{{iw|bulbapedia|Pokémon Y}}'' and ''{{iw|bulbapedia|Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire}}''. In this form, Mewtwo gains huge boosts in all stats, except for its Defense, which decreases, and Speed, which only increases slightly. While the playable Mewtwo is primarily based on [[bulbapedia:Mewtwo (original series)|the character]] from [[bulbapedia:M01|the first Pokémon movie]], Mega Mewtwo Y first appeared in the anime as an alternate form for [[bulbapedia:Mewtwo (Best Wishes series)|a different Mewtwo]] from [[bulbapedia:M16|the sixteenth movie]] before its debut in the games.
