The event was a spinoff of [[E3]] and was held for 2 years, 2007 and 2008, before being retired and folded back into E3 in 2009.

It is  the event where the demo version of ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' was playable for the first time. The first E for All event was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on October 18, 2007. This event displayed the first ever public playable version of ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl''.

The 15 playable characters during the first E for All were [[Samus]], [[Sonic]], [[Pit]], [[Donkey Kong]], [[Meta Knight]], [[Mario]], [[Link]], [[Fox]], [[Pikachu]], [[Diddy Kong]], [[Ike]], [[Peach]], [[Zero Suit Samus]] (through Samus' [[Final Smash]]), [[Yoshi]], and [[Bowser]]. The Random selection appeared as a starting option and featured a '''?''' sign.
A special [[demo]] version of ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' was playable at this event. This was the first time ''Brawl'' was playable to the public.
