*The identity of which characters the two opponents even are is heavily obscured during this event: in addition to their invisibility, their character name and portrait do not appear next to their [[damage]] percentage, they do not make voices, and their [[series symbol]] is displayed as the {{uv|Smash Bros.}} universe, rather than the {{uv|Mario}} universe or {{uv|F-Zero}} universe, respectively.
*Oddly, the [[series symbol]] for both opponents is that of the [[Smash Bros. universe]], not the {{B|Mario|universe}} or [[F-Zero universe]]s, as would be appropriate.
*This is the only event in the series that involves unlockable characters that does not require those characters to be unlocked for the event to be played.
*This co-op event is a reference to switched-in characters. However {{SSBB|Samus}} is in the next co-op event after this one ([[Co-Op Event 7: Battle of the Dark Sides]]).
