As the wiki is not always the best place for an in-depth chat, we've decided to create a channel for you, the wonderful users of SmashWiki!
Many of the administrators frequent the channel, and you are cordially invited to chat, discuss wiki issues, notify us of important developments and just generally make yourself at home and chat about anything Smash Bros!
Once you have an IRC client, join the channel at chat.freenode.net, #wikia-smashbros!
If you don't want to use an IRC client, you can use our CGI Gateway at http://irc.wikia.com/. Select a user name and the channel option of "#wikia-smashbros".
In addition, SmashWiki also has a general anti-vandalism IRC channel, along with the other Wikias: chat.freenode.net, #cvn-wikia!

Channel rules
- Be civil - harassment and insulting behavior is not tolerated.
- Don't spam the channel, and especially do not copy and paste reams of text. If you need to, please use a pasting service such as Pastey.net!
- An admin's word is final.
- Try and keep generally on topic ... most of the time ;)
- English is the language of the channel, but many nationalities may be present, so you may still be able to get help if English isn't your best language. :)
Useful info
- Most users idle on the channel. There is absolutely no requirement to be chatty or even respond to comments.
- If you have a question, just ask it. If you don't get an answer straight away, you're probably not being ignored — other people are just busy!
- Absolutely anyone is welcome to join — as with the wiki, the IRC channel is a neutral channel. Admins, of course, still have final say.
Operators and voicing
- All administrators and technical staff of SmashWiki are encouraged to join and are automatically given channel operator privileges. These people are voiced in channel ("+v").\
Counter-vandalism IRC channel
SmashWiki's counter-vandalism channel exists with the general Wikia countervandalism channel. It picks up recent changes that may be vandalism and posts them on the channel. Join the general community in chat.freenode.net, #cvn-wikia
