Jigglypuff (SSB4): Difference between revisions

That "rule" clearly isn't consistently enforced, but regardless this part can stay. Jigglypuff was definitely harmed by this. The bit about Pound is irrelevant as shield damage does not affect shieldstun.
(Undid edit by Black Vulpine: global changes do not belong on character changelists unless they are extremely disproportionate (e.g. Luigi wavedash); this is not to that extent)

Jigglypuff is notorious for not receiving any direct changes despite being universally considered a bottom-tier character. However, the changes to shield mechanics in updates 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 indirectly buffed Jigglypuff, as the increased shieldstun makes Jigglypuff's attacks slightly safer on shield (most notably its back aerial) and benefits Pound's high shield damage output, slightly improving its limited approach. It also slightly benefits from the nerfs given to some of its hardest matchups in game updates, such as Diddy Kong, Sheik, Zero Suit Samus, and Bayonetta. However, it is the only non-top tier fighter to have never received a single buff,<!--Dedede's down throw was buffed in 1.0.4--> which further reinforced its widely held perception as the worst fighter in the game. Overall, Jigglypuff fares considerably worse relative to the cast than it did during the initial release, due to not receiving any truly significant changes from game updates.
