A Semi-spike is a move that always sends you at either a mostly horizontal angle (even with DI)(let's call them Type A) or a almost-set distance in an almost-set angle (even with DI)(let's call them Type B).

The most well used Semi-spike is, of course, Sheik's Forward-air (Type A). Even with amazing DI, it will still send you mostly horizontally.

Out of the Type B's, the most noticable are Ganondorf's and Pikachu's Up-airs.

Other Semi-spikes include Fox's and Falco's Downsmashes, Captain Falcon's Forward-Air and Yoshi's Downtilt.
