The Off-Season 2 (stylized as The 𐤈FF-SeA2ON) was a Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. tournament held on September 23rd-24th, 2023 in Arlington, Texas. There were 8 players invited to the Melee singles final bracket, and 8 players qualified to the final bracket through an open bracket. The 16 players then played in a double-elimination bracket. The tournament had a $25,000 prize pool for Melee singles and a $5,000 prize pool for Smash 64 singles, which was the second largest prize pool for Smash 64 singles. Charity incentives included Brinstar counterpick enabled for Melee doubles, Saffron City and Hyrule Castle enabled for Smash 64 singles, Corneria and Mute City enabled for Melee singles, 5 stocks in Melee Grand Finals, and a caster swap between Melee and Black Ops II. All of which became enabled, with $215.637.69 raised by the end of the event.[1] The event was a retro-themed charity fundraiser event in support of Movember that also featured a Call of Duty: Black Ops II invitational, a Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock singles open, showmatches, and speedruns.

Tournament summary

Super Smash Bros. Melee

After talks with several entrants and staff members, it was decided only the open bracket counted for the rankings,[2] due to the ruleset using banned stages and the less serious environment of the charity tournament.

aMSa won Melee singles bracket for the second year in a row, in his last tournament before moving back to Japan.
