This discussion is in regards to a proposed change on SmashWiki. The discussion must first meet with a consensus before it is implemented.

IIRC the decision to keep the order of fighters and stages in Ultimate in a predetermined order based on the series and several other criteria was made relatively early on in the release of Ultimate. I feel as though now that there has been several years passing since the release, that many people are now used to the in-game order of the fighters, and feel as though there should at least be an option to switch between the two. I'm not sure if that would be possible but I'm aware that other wikis have an option to order lists based on descending/ascending alphabetical order by clicking on the column title, i imagine it would be similar to that if it were to be implemented Luigi86101 (talk) 14:13, May 8, 2022 (EDT)

I'm not sure how something like that would actually work though. The way the table is formatted kinda makes it impossible to do so from what I know about Wiki formatting. But I agree it's not sensible to have the roster order the way we currently do. I don't know who made that decision, but I certainly wasn't involved in that process.
