Article on Wikipedia Kazuya Mishima

Kazuya Mishima is a major character from the Tekken series of fighting games. He has acted as both main protagonist and main antagonist multiple times, alternating roles between entries.

Origin

Born from the union between Kazumi and Heihachi Mishima, Kazuya is greeted with happiness. His father, Heihachi, would later say that they were "overjoyed" and that Kazumi took care of them with the utmost care. When he was very young, Kazuya began martial arts training with both his father Heihachi and his grandfather Jinpachi Mishima, who loved him very much.

Heihachi, when he was 31, gets rid of Jinpachi and takes over the family business, renameing it to Mishima Zaibatsu. Under his control, it specializes in everything related to war in his desire to to conquer the world. This change startles Kazumi, who, seeing that Heihachi is becoming a threat, decides to stop him. In the meantime, Heihachi manages to stop his father's coup attempt by capturing and locking him up in a prison built on the Mishima estate called Hon-Maru.

Kazumi had discovered that the new 5-year-old Kazuya possessed, like her, the Devil Gene, offering him the possibility of transforming into a demon. Knowing that her husband could discover the truth at any moment and still seeing him as a threat to humanity, Kazumi makes a pact with Akuma. Having saved his life in the past, the fighter is indebted to him. Kazumi also asks Akuma to suppress Kazuya despite her love for him, realizing the dangers of the demonic gene. Heihachi ends up finding out the truth about his wife and kills her soon thereafter, leaving him alone with Kazuya.

Kazuya, aware that Heihachi was responsible for his mother's death, accuses him directly and decides to confront him, but is easily defeated. Heihachi then decides to throw Kazuya off the top of a cliff, deeming him too weak while also testing both whether his soon was worthy to succeed him and whether he inherited the Devil Gene from his mother. Kazuya barely survives the fall, but is able to climb back up the cliff due to his Devil Gene activating and causing his devil powers to awaken.

Following this incident, Kazuya continued to train to prepare his revenge against his father. During these trips, he faced Paul Phoenix, with the fight ending in a draw. Since then, Paul has seen Kazuya as his rival and wished to face him again, without ever succeeding.

In Tekken, Kazuya, now age 26, participates in the First King of Iron Fist Tournament that Heihachi organizes. The winner of this tournament will be rewarded with a colossal amount of money. Kazuya participates in the hope of revenge and taking the family business. Making it to the final fight against his father, Kazuya defeats Heihachi with his "Demon Kazuya" form and throws his body off the same cliff from which Heihachi threw him more than two decades prior.
