Alolan Raichu attacks by surfing on its tail and attacking opponents in its path with electricity.

Raichu is a Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Red and Blue. It was the evolved form of Pikachu, and, in Gold and Silver, became the final evolution of the Pichu evolution line.

In Sun and Moon, several Generation I Pokemon received Alolan variations to accommodate for the climate changes in the new game — among those was Raichu, who received an Electric/Psychic-type variation. Additionally, if Pikachu learned Surf in Pokémon Stadium and evolved into Raichu, it would surf on its tail; it's theorized that this inspired Alolan Raichu.
