According to [[Masahiro Sakurai]], he stated that [[Reggie Fils-Aimé]], Shigeru Miyamoto and [[Satoru Iwata]] were briefly considered to be playable characters in ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U]]'', but this was decided against because Sakurai felt that the 3 game developers would not appeal to a wide audience.
