Despite what the name implies, this is a medley of the reoccuring "Athletic" and "Ground" themes from the general ''New Super Mario Bros.'' series (minus ''New Super Mario Bros. U''); the song's name refers to their usage in ''{{s|mariowiki|New Super Mario Bros. 2}}'' to correlate with [[Golden Plains]], the stage it plays on. While the Ground theme and Athletic theme usually share the same general melody and chord progression, they differ in instrumentation and refrains; the remix in ''Smash'' is mostly based on the Athletic theme, while including both of the refrains from the Athletic and Ground theme.
This is a remix of the "athletic" or "ground" theme from ''{{s|mariowiki|New Super Mario Bros. 2}}''.
