==Origin==
Judd is a cat who serves as the judge of online matches in the ''Splatoon'' series by signifying which team won by holding up a flag.  He is notable for being the only land mammal alive in the {{iw|inkipedia|Mollusc Era}}, and is revealed through various {{iw|inkipedia|Sunken Scroll}}s to be over 10,000 years old, having survived the extinction of humanity thanks to [[inkipedia:The Professor|his owner]] sealing him in a cryogenic capsule and injecting him with an immortality drug.  Upon awakening, Judd began judging the {{iw|inkipedia|Great Turf War}} and all subsequent {{iw|inkipedia|Turf War}}s.

In ''Splatoon 2'', {{iw|inkipedia|Li'l Judd}} was added to hold up the flag of the enemy team.  It is revealed via Sunken Scroll that he was born from cloning technology included in Judd's capsule to prevent him from being alone.  Various sources reveal that Li'l Judd seeks to usurp Judd's position as Turf War judge.

Judd appears as a Mii Fighter hat as part of [[Downloadable content (SSBU)#Round 11|Round 11]] of ''Ultimate''.

In his reveal trailer, the Mii representing Judd is shown jumping out of an oil drum on [[Wrecking Crew]], referencing the blue crate Judd is often found sleeping on. The Mii is then shown fighting {{SSBU|Incineroar}} on the [[Ω form]] of [[Tortimer Island]], and punching away a blue {{SSBU|Inkling}} while a green Inkling taunts on the Ω form of [[The Great Cave Offensive]], referencing his role as the judge of Turf Wars. Finally, the Mii is shown lifting a [[Special Flag]] on [[Moray Towers]], referencing the flags he uses.
