The stage is made up of three floating islands. The island in the middle is the largest, and above it are two floating platforms. The two islands to the left and right are somewhat smaller, and are usually where most of the fighting occurs. The tree in the center, [[Whispy Woods]], will occasionally blow gales of wind in a certain direction to disrupt the fight.

Between the islands are blocks that stack up. The blocks will stop appearing once a stack is five blocks high, and will not start again until the fifth block is destroyed. Combatants can break the blocks by attacking them; hitting a Bomb Block causes an explosion in the vicinity, dealing heavy knockback and 22% damage in Melee, 20% in Brawl and 13% in Ultimate.

Also, Whispy Woods will occasionally shake its branches, dropping [[apple]]s on the middle island. If players are in the middle section when this occurs, they will be damaged by them. After landing, the apples become items. Some apples are projectiles that can be picked up and thrown at enemies, while others are healing [[food]].
